Horses are a nomadic civilization that pre-date humans by about 55 million years. They are a nation unto themselves. Bonded herds depend on each other for their survival.

Human civilization was profoundly altered the day the first human leapt onto a horse and discovered that—through the animal—he could extend and enhance his own abilities: his speed, strength and his very stature, as he observed the world from this new height—literally and figuratively.

Horse companions suffer silently. Herd and social animals by nature, they experience depression, loneliness and isolation in the backyard barns and stables of rural neighborhoods. Horses do enjoy the companionship of humans—they have been bred throughout history to do so—but few of their stewards understand how a ride in the woods, a walk along a stream, or simply sitting with a horse and talking to it, can cure the animal’s emotional anguish. Honest mistakes that occur so often with inexperienced horse enthusiasts; people who simply do not have—or will not seek—the knowledge and practice critical for proper day-to-day care of this very delicate animal.

People often confuse pecking order with proving to the horse that they’re bigger and stronger than the horse using the “or else!” attitude. All this does is make the horse more observant in finding the weaknesses in the human method of training

By pecking order I mean building respect and trust so your horse will always look to you and your request as he would in the case of the lead brood mare in a herd.  Pecking order is very important social behavior in a natural herd is also important to their survival.  The top mare is always older and  smarter and usually receives this honor through her mother taking this top position in the herd when she becomes the oldest of the elite mares. Horses at the top end of the pecking order are easier to train because they understand the social communication. 

We understand that it is many times very hard to get help from professional traders, because they do not have the time to teach beginning students. Some trainers have tried but soon discover their student is now willing to spend the time it really takes.  If a person does not have as much time to devote to learning how to train, Like all the trainers have had. If a person can not give that twelve hours a day to learn the skills of training courses, learning how to train by using the horses language is that answer.
